Intelligent lighting is a step above your normal DJ lighting.  The light fixtures can be programmed either by a special controller or using computer software. The functionality and abilities of intelligent lighting go far beyond that of ordinary lighting and are only limited by the users imagination. With the use of the controller the lighting designer can control the patterns, speed, color and many other functions of the light fixtures. In addition, they are often brighter and have more vivid color and more color combinations than ordinary lighting. Intelligent lighting is the type of lighting you would see at nightclubs and concerts. These lights can add a lot of energy and a real “wow factor” to your event.

MDM Entertainment’s Up Lighting Packages consist of modern LED lighting fixtures placed strategically throughout the room to create brilliant columns of light going up walls or other architectural fixtures. The colors can be matched to coordinate with your wedding color scheme and tie all the elements together in a dazzling way. The illuminated walls create a stunning, contemporary effect that adds a whole new level of design and elegance to your event. They can turn a plain room into a magnificent attraction.

The LED lighting we use is far superior to traditional uplighting used by other companies in many ways.

  • Our LED fixtures consume far less power than the old-fashioned par cans. Many times our lighting can be run off of a single electrical outlet. This is very important in venues with limited power supply.
  • Traditional uplighting fixtures can become very hot and pose a serious risk of burns, especially to small children who like to touch the lights. Our lights remain cool to the touch throughout the entire event.
  • Our lights are “intelligent” and can be programmed to produce millions of colors from a single unit and can be controlled to vary color, intensity, speed of color fade, etc throughout the course of an event.

The ambient room wash uses LED fixtures on stands to completely “wash”  the floor, ceiling or walls with color. It differs from uplighting that uplighting will make a column of light going up a wall where as the wash will completely illuminate the entire area to set just the right mood for you and your guests.

Pin spotting is used to illuminate and create a focal point on the centerpiece.  It is a very dramatic effect when the room lights are dimmed it makes the centerpieces really stand out. If you have elaborate floral arrangements and centerpieces pin spotting can really accentuate them and show them in their full magnificence. Your florist will love it!

Our Laser Starfield Projector generates thousands of pin points of light which create an enormous "universe of stars" in a blue nebula that will amaze everyone. A very impressive lighting effect.

"Lighting is a powerful tool in changing the look and feel of an event!  MDM Entertainment was able to make the ordinary extraordinary with the lighting effects he used at Matt and Stacy's wedding reception at Old Orchard Country Club in September!  Mike provided us with pink uplights around the room and behind the head table.  He also used a pinspot on the cake and a gobo light on the dancefloor with Matt and Stacy's custom monogram.  From the ohh's and ahh's of the staff, country club members and guests alike, the place has never looked better!  

We were working on a modest budget and lighting was our splurge item.  Having the custom lighting made our event look like we had spared no expense!  The ambiance created by the lighting in the room lent itself to all the special moments of the day.  The gobo was a romantic touch to the first dance.  The hot pink uplights made our rock'n'roll wedding funky and fresh and also created a 'clubby' atmosphere when the lights went down for dancing.  The pinspotting on the cake set the cake top (a very special pick of the Bride and Groom) on full display.
